Capital View Irrigation
💧 How Your Water Gets to You
If you are a Capital View Irrigation District (CVID) user, your water originates from the Boise River, based on your water rights. That water is delivered to you through the Farmers Union Ditch Company (FUD) canal system.
In simple terms: Farmer’s Union controls the canals that deliver Boise River water to your property.
⚠️ What Changed
In October 2024, Farmers Union Ditch Company signed an agreement with Eagle Sewer District (ESD) to discharge Class A treated municipal sewer water into the canal system.
This means:
● Treated wastewater will be introduced into the irrigation canals
● Wastewater will flow to downstream users, including Capital View Irrigation District users
Most Capital View Irrigation District users:
● Were not notified before this agreement was signed
● Are not parties to the contract
● Do not have the ability to opt out
What You’ll Find on This Page
This section is designed specifically for Capital View users. Here you’ll find:
Your water rights documents (Stating the Boise River as our source, not sewer water)
The FUD–ESD agreement
CVID bylaws and related documents
Assessment and governance information
Farmers Union recalculated the way they assess Capital View Irrigation District after they entered into discussions with Eagle Sewer District (again with the same attorney representing both Farmers Union and Capitol View). This is when our annual assessment paid to Capital View Irrigation District doubled.
A separate section includes historical agreements that show how this system has operated over time.
